If you will enumerate all the pieces of furniture that you know, you’ll surely have a very long list and still not manage to name them all. Pieces of household furniture come in many different types. They are usually grouped based on the room in the house where they are used or placed. Those which are used and placed in bedrooms are called pieces of bedroom furniture. Manufacturers of household furniture usually sell them apiece or in a full bedroom furniture set or package. Buying bedroom furniture set would be easier and more cost-efficient if you’re starting from nothing, but if not, you might as well buy only those that you need.
Types of bedroom furniture
By buying a complete set of bedroom furniture pieces, you can get discounts from furniture stores. Also, bedroom furniture sets usually come in matching designs so you wouldn’t have to bother about choosing individual pieces of furniture that match in color and style. It then saves you the time and trouble of choosing bedroom furniture pieces one by one.
Pieces of bedroom furniture come in different types, depending on their use:
Beds are one of the key bedroom furniture pieces. They are pieces of furniture intended for sleeping, relaxation, and resting. Beds come in many different types and styles. There are beds that are specifically intended for smaller bedrooms such as bunk beds, trundle beds, loft beds, storage beds, Murphy beds, and wall beds. Beds can come in any of its standard sizes: twin, full, queen size, and king size.
Some furniture stores also sell other bed accessories and parts such as headboards and mattresses. Headboards come in different designs and style, some of which are made of wood, others are of metal, while the rest can be made of other materials. Mattresses come in many different types, thickness measurements, and sizes.
Bedrooms also have furniture pieces for storage such as wardrobes, cabinets, closets, dressers, and drawers. These are used to store clothes, bed accessories such as pillowcases and spare blankets.
Mirrors and vanity tables are also among the common pieces of bedroom furniture. Bedroom vanity tables and mirrors are usually intended for bedroom personal effects such as beautification and hygiene products. Some bedrooms also have jewelry armoire and vaults for the safekeeping of valuables.
Bedroom shelves are common in spacious bedrooms. These shelves are usually used for decorations decorative items and entertainment appliances such as TV sets and radios. Some bedrooms also have desks for work, study, and holding a computer.

Hi,
I am looking for a wooden piece of furniture that initially appears to be a cupboard but is in fact a tilt out laundry hamper – the ‘cupboard’ door opens by tilting out to the front rather than to the side and inside is your laundry. For examples please see http://www.homedecorators.com/search.php?search=tilt+out+hamper. Another style I would consider is a basket which sits inside a wooden ‘cage’ similar to this item: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260475209202&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT.
The benefit of each is that you can use the top surface to hold things like a vase / jewelry box etc rather than nothing as with a normal laundry basket as you’re constantly taking off the lid. Do you sell anything like this or know where I could find it in the UK?
Many thanks for your help.
Rita Allan.
